About Erik McIntosh
San Francisco-based Top Agent Erik McIntosh – of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ Franciscan Properties – is the kind of real estate agent any buyer or seller would want on their side. Honest, hardworking and straight shooting, Erik has built a stellar reputation as a trusted advocate and advisor for his many clients in the San Francisco market. Having created his business on a foundation of integrity and solid industry knowledge, there are few better suited to helping his buyers achieve the American dream of home ownership and his sellers to reach – and often exceed – their financial goals.
Erik’s Background
Erik, whose mother has been a Realtor for over forty years, essentially grew up immersed in the real estate industry. “Prior to becoming an agent,” says Erik, “I was the director of finance at casino in Reno, Nv, but wanted to move back to California. I was wondering what I would do for work, and then I talked to my mom and she convinced me to give real estate a try.” That was in 2005, and since then, Erik has enjoyed a rapid ascendency to the top of his industry, selling residential properties in The City, and in neighboring rural areas selling horse properties, one of his specialties. “I grew up on a horse property, so I’ll step out of San Francisco for those types of properties,” he explains.
Currently, Erik – a two-time Five Star Award Winner based on his excellent customer service and client and peer reviews – can claim that almost the entirety of his considerable business is based upon referrals and positive word of mouth, an impressive statistic by any measure, but more so in the highly competitive world of real estate. “I’m just an honest person,” says Erik, when asked how he manages to inspire such impressive levels of trust and loyalty amongst his clients. “I play devil’s advocate for clients. If they’re looking at a property, I’m going to tell them the truth the entire time about possible issues with the home.” Erik is also well-known and connected to a wide network of other Bay Area Realtors.
Other factors that come into play when assessing Erik’s success story would be his expert negotiation skills, and a thorough, intelligent, leave-no-stone-unturned marketing strategy. Combined, these strengths translate into fast sales for top dollar, not to mention happy – and returning and referring – clients.
“I love helping people,” says Erik. “It’s the reason I got into the casino industry. I wanted to make people feel comfortable and valued. It’s the same with real estate. I don’t work just to make money, I work to make my clients happy. If they are, the money follows,” says Erik.
When he’s not working, Erik enjoys attending concerts, particularly in Las Vegas, where he still maintains many professional connections. He is also loves to ride his bike, and is a former surfer. He also has a philanthropic heart, and during the COVID-19 crisis has donated his time delivering food to those affected the most seriously.
Erik has many plans for the future of his business, the most notable being his desire to obtain his real estate license in Nevada. He also plans on growing his business, and to hopefully retire in five to ten years. Above all, however, is his primary goal: to continue providing his many Bay Area clients with the unparalleled customer service that has become his stock-in-trade.
